Kansas City, MO – Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Metro Bus at Paseo and 9th St
Kansas City, MO (January 14, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision involving a Metro bus in Kansas City on Tuesday, January 13.
According to local police, the crash occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Paseo Boulevard and 9th Street. A black Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on Paseo when a Metro bus heading westbound on 9th Street entered the intersection.
Police stated that the bus driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign before proceeding through the intersection. The bus struck the motorcycle, causing the rider to be ejected.
Emergency medical services transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The rider was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
The bus driver and all passengers on board the Metro bus were not injured in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
