Commercial Vehicle Accidents in Kansas City

Accidents involving commercial vehicles such as semi-trucks often lead to serious injuries because of their large size and weight. When these crashes involve law enforcement officers or other public servants, the consequences can be even more significant, affecting both individual lives and community safety.

Kansas City is a central hub for highway traffic, with busy highways like Missouri Route 210 and Interstate 435 carrying large volumes of commercial traffic daily. This increased presence of trucks on the road elevates the risk of serious collisions. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, thousands of commercial vehicle crashes occur annually across the state, with many causing severe injuries.

In collisions involving semi-trucks, the legal process can be more complex than in typical car accidents. Liability may extend beyond the driver to include the trucking company, maintenance providers, or even the manufacturer of a defective part. Victims may be eligible to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, reduced earning capacity, pain and suffering, and the costs of long-term care or permanent disability.

If a commercial vehicle, such as a delivery truck, was involved, additional legal considerations may apply. Learn more about how these complex cases are handled by a truck accident lawyer and what steps you should take following a serious crash.
