Ellsinore, MO – One Killed, Multiple Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 60

Ellsinore, MO (December 19, 2025) – One man was killed and several others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on December 17 on Highway 60, just one mile west of Ellsinore.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 5:20 p.m. when a 2012 Ford Focus attempted to make a left turn and was struck by an oncoming 2017 Ram 1500. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time of the collision.

The Ford Focus was driven by a 38-year-old man from Alton, Missouri. He suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Medical Center. A 45-year-old male passenger in the Focus, also from Alton, was pronounced dead later that evening at the hospital. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a seatbelt.

Three people from Ellsinore were in the Ram 1500. The driver, a 35-year-old woman, was not wearing a seatbelt but was not listed among those seriously injured. A 60-year-old male passenger sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to the same hospital. Two teen girls, ages 15 and 16, suffered minor injuries and were transported privately to Poplar Bluff Medical Center.

This marks Troop G’s 34th fatality of 2025, a rise from 27 fatalities reported at the same time last year. The major crash team is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
