Kansas City, MO - Passenger Killed, Driver Critical After Car Overturns Into Brush Creek

Kansas City, MO (November 25, 2025) — One person died and another suffered life-threatening injuries after a car went over a guardrail and overturned into Brush Creek on Sunday, November 23, near the Country Club Plaza, according to Kansas City police. The crash occurred around 2:20 a.m. near West Brush Creek Boulevard and Ward Parkway.

Police said a white four-door sedan was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to make a curve leading into the southbound lanes. The vehicle then vaulted over the guardrail and landed upside down in Brush Creek.

Officers responded quickly, and both occupants were pulled from the overturned vehicle and transported to a hospital with critical injuries. The passenger later died at the hospital, and the driver remains in critical condition.
