Kewaskum, WI – Two Injured in Pickup and Tractor Crash at CTH-W & Sunset Dr

Kewaskum, WI (October 23, 2025) – Two teenagers were injured on October 21 in a crash involving a pickup truck and a farm tractor near County Highway West and Sunset Drive, just southwest of Kewaskum.

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21. A southbound pickup truck collided with the rear of a tractor that was also traveling southbound while hauling a corn chopper.

The 64-year-old man operating the tractor, from Campbellsport, was not injured. However, the 16-year-old driver of the pickup, from Eden, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. His 16-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital in Fond du Lac.

Investigators believe that poor lighting on the farm equipment may have contributed to the crash.

We extend our deepest thoughts to the injured teens and wish them both a full and swift recovery.

Farm Equipment Crashes in Kewaskum, Wisconsin

Accidents involving farm machinery and passenger vehicles are not uncommon in rural parts of Wisconsin, particularly during harvest seasons. These crashes can be especially dangerous due to the size and slow speed of agricultural equipment compared to regular traffic.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, crashes involving farm vehicles often occur on rural roads, with rear-end collisions being one of the most frequent types. Limited visibility, slow-moving machinery, and inadequate lighting at dusk or after dark are all contributing factors.

Injuries from these collisions can be severe, especially when they involve younger drivers or high-speed impacts. Victims may face long recovery periods, high medical bills, and emotional trauma.

For those injured in crashes involving farm equipment, it is important to understand your legal rights. A truck accident attorney can help determine whether negligence played a role—such as lack of proper lighting, improper signage, or unsafe operation of large machinery. Compensation may be available for medical costs, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more.
