Spring Hill, TN – Semi-Truck Crash on Main St Causes Diesel Fuel Spill Near

Spring Hill, TN (March 9, 2026) – An early morning crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle led to a diesel fuel spill on Monday, March 9.

According to the Spring Hill Fire Department, the collision occurred shortly before 4 a.m. along Main Street in front of Rippavilla Plantation. Initial reports indicate that the semi-truck attempted to make a U-turn when a sedan collided with the passenger-side fuel tank of the truck.

The impact damaged the truck’s fuel tank, prompting emergency crews to respond and safely remove approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel from the vehicle. Firefighters worked to secure the scene and prevent the fuel from spreading on the roadway.

Officials said the driver of the semi-truck was not injured, while the driver of the sedan sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Authorities have not released additional details as the incident remains under review.

We hope everyone affected by this collision makes a full recovery.

What to Do After a Truck Accident in Tennessee

After a truck accident in Tennessee, the priority should always be safety and medical care. Anyone involved in a collision should call 911 so emergency responders can arrive to assess injuries and secure the scene. Even when injuries appear minor, it is still important to receive medical evaluation because symptoms such as head injuries, internal trauma, or neck strain may not appear immediately after the crash.

Once first responders arrive, law enforcement officers usually begin documenting the incident and preparing an official accident report. Officers may gather statements from drivers and witnesses, examine vehicle damage, and review roadway conditions. In accidents involving commercial trucks, investigators may also examine driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and other regulatory information to determine whether any safety violations contributed to the crash.

Tennessee follows a fault-based insurance system, meaning the driver responsible for causing the accident may be held financially liable for resulting damages. However, truck accidents can sometimes involve additional parties beyond the driver, including trucking companies, maintenance providers, or cargo handlers. Because of this, determining liability can take time while investigators and insurance companies review the available evidence.

Because accidents involving commercial trucks can involve multiple insurance policies and complex regulations, some individuals choose to speak with a lawyer.

Legal guidance can help explain how truck accident claims work in Tennessee, what types of compensation may be available for medical costs, lost income, or other damages, and what steps may help protect a person’s rights while they focus on recovery.
