Truesdale, MO – Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-70 Injures Three

Truesdale, MO (November 01, 2025) – A serious crash involving two tractor-trailers and a city-owned Chevrolet Silverado left three people injured on Thursday, October 30, including two Truesdale city employees. The accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 70 near mile marker 195.2, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

Authorities reported that a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer was traveling east on I-70 when it veered off the roadway for unknown reasons. The truck then returned to the highway, striking the right side of another tractor-trailer traveling nearby. Following the initial impact, the Freightliner overturned and continued sliding along the ground before crossing onto the service road, where it collided with a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado owned by the City of Truesdale.

The Silverado was occupied by two city employees who were reportedly performing work duties in the nearby Heritage Hills subdivision at the time of the crash. Emergency responders from the Warren County Ambulance District quickly arrived and provided aid to all involved. The two Truesdale employees sustained injuries and were transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis for treatment. The driver of the 2021 Freightliner, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis with serious injuries. The driver of the second tractor-trailer reportedly did not sustain significant harm.

Both Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and local authorities remained on-site for several hours to investigate the crash and clear the scene. At this time, investigators are reviewing several potential factors that may have led to the incident, including driver fatigue, mechanical issues, or roadway conditions.

We hope all those affected by this accident make a full and speedy recovery.

Truck Accidents in Missouri

Crashes involving commercial trucks and smaller vehicles remain a significant safety concern across Missouri highways, such as I-70. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), large truck accidents account for a substantial number of serious injury and fatality crashes statewide each year. Due to their size and weight, tractor-trailers can cause catastrophic damage even at moderate speeds, particularly when they lose control or tip over.

When smaller vehicles, like the Truesdale city truck, are struck by large trucks, the occupants often face a high risk of injury due to the difference in vehicle mass and impact force. Even when injuries are described as minor, victims may experience long-term pain, physical therapy requirements, or emotional trauma following such a collision.

In situations where a commercial truck driver or company is found to be negligent, such as through improper maintenance, overloading, or violations of federal trucking regulations, injured parties may have grounds for legal compensation. This can include recovery for medical bills, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering.

Truck accident investigations often require examining black box data, reviewing driver logs, and analyzing maintenance records to determine the exact cause of a crash. At The Dunk Law Firm, our experienced truck accident attorney can assist victims by ensuring that all crucial evidence is preserved and by negotiating with insurance companies on their behalf.
