St. Charles Co., MO – 11-Year-Old Girl Killed in MO-79 Crash at Route M
St. Charles County, MO (November 29, 2025) – An 11-year-old girl tragically lost her life on Friday, November 28, after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of MO-79 and Route M. The crash was reported after 1:00 p.m., prompting a swift response from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and local emergency crews.
According to investigators, the crash occurred when the driver of a southbound 2010 Mazda 3 attempted to turn left onto Route M and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The vehicle entered the path of a northbound 2010 Ford F-350, leading to a high-impact collision. The force of the crash pushed the Ford off the roadway and into a guardrail, causing extensive damage.
The juvenile passenger in the Mazda was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital West, where she was pronounced dead at 1:58 p.m. The 40-year-old male driver of the Mazda suffered serious injuries, while the 57-year-old driver of the Ford sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. Both adults were taken to the same hospital for treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

Intersection Crashes in St. Charles County
Crashes at major intersections like MO-79 and Route M have long been a safety concern in St. Charles County. These roadways carry steady traffic throughout the day, and high-speed travel combined with turning movements can significantly increase the risk of severe collisions. Failure-to-yield crashes are particularly dangerous, as they often happen suddenly, giving oncoming drivers little or no time to react.
Intersection collisions involving large vehicles, such as pickup trucks or commercial units, tend to cause extensive damage due to the difference in size and weight. Passenger vehicles or compact cars offer limited protection in high-impact scenarios, leaving occupants vulnerable to catastrophic injuries. Children are at even greater risk, as their smaller size and developing bodies make them more susceptible to severe trauma. These risks are especially pronounced on high-speed roadways or rural routes where visibility issues, wide intersections, and inconsistent traffic patterns can make crashes even more dangerous.
Families who experience a fatal crash often face overwhelming emotional and financial challenges. Medical expenses, funeral costs, and the sudden loss of a child or loved one can bring immense strain. A wrongful death claim may help families pursue compensation, determine liability, and seek accountability from negligent parties. A skilled wrongful death attorney can examine crash reports, roadway conditions, vehicle damage, and witness statements to build a clear understanding of what occurred. They may also consult reconstruction experts or review electronic vehicle data to identify factors such as speed, braking, or driver behavior that contributed to the collision.
If your family has been impacted by a serious crash in St. Charles County or nearby areas, you do not have to navigate the aftermath on your own. The physical, emotional, and financial toll can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to understand what comes next. Compassionate legal guidance is available to help you move forward.
